1. Unwrap the Starburst candies and place them into a microwave-safe bowl.
2. Microwave the candies for 45 seconds, or until they start to melt. (Be sure to watch them closely to prevent over-melting or burning)
3. Stir the melted candies until they form a smooth mixture. If necessary, microwave them for another 15 seconds, then stir again until smooth.
4. Gradually add the powdered sugar to the melted candies and stir until it forms a thick, slime-like consistency.
5. If the mixture is too sticky, you can add a bit more powdered sugar. If it becomes too dry, add a few more melted Starburst candies.
6. Let the mixture cool for about five minutes or until it's cool enough to handle.

4. Stir in the thermochromic pigment, be sure to stir well to distribute the color evenly.
5. Add the contact lens solution to the bowl.
6. Stir well. This is where the slime starts to form. Slime should be stretchy and malleable, but not sticky.
7. If needed, add 1/4 tablespoon contact lens solution to make the slime less sticky.

Note:

Adult supervision is recommended for this project. The thermochromic pigment can be messy and should not be inhaled or consumed.

• 4 oz. of white school glue
• 1/4 cup of water
• 1/4 cup of liquid starch
• 2 tablespoons of iron oxide powder
• Disposable gloves
• Magnet

Instructions

1. Prepare your ingredients: Ensure all materials are on a clean, flat surface and your hands are clean as well. We recommend wearing disposable gloves for this project to avoid any skin irritation.
2. Mix glue and water: Pour the white school glue into a bowl. Add water to the glue and stir until it's completely combined.
3. Add iron oxide: Slowly add the iron oxide powder to the glue mixture while continuously stirring. You'll notice the mixture start to become thick and clumpy. That's a good sign! Make sure all powder is mixed well into the glue.
4. Add Liquid Starch: Slowly pour the liquid starch into the glue mixture, continually stirring as you do so. The slime will begin to form. Keep stirring until the slime has fully formed and pulled away from the sides of the bowl.
5. Knead the slime: At this point, the slime should be cool to the touch. Take the slime out of the bowl and knead it with your hands until it's no longer sticky.
6. Play with the Magnetic Slime: Now the slime is ready for play. Use a magnet to see the fascinating magnetic properties of your slime. Remember, don't let the slime near electronics, and it's not recommended to be left on any surfaces that could be stained.

Note: Even though this slime is safe to touch, it is not safe to eat. Always supervise younger children during slime play to prevent accidental ingestion.
